BBC Local Elections Coverage 2000 BBC Local Elections Coverage 2000 This is a special section to t|v|a where we look at the television coverage of the Local Elections held on Thursday 4th May 2000. The BBC has been presenting election results for years, however this should turn out to be interesting, being the first election of the 21st Century. Follow my screen grabs to the presentation and results of the evening... Small Note: These screen grabs are taken from BBC1's analogue output, you will notice a black border round some images, this is not a transmission detail as the entire programme was broadcast in 4:3 aspect ratio. © BBC

| David Dimbleby hosts the evening, with a small edition of the logo in the background. The background is entirely computer animated bringing information of changes in seats whenever viable for visual production. Did the BBC get indirect sponsorship from a popular alcoholic drink or a Richard Branson record label for this logo? | The initial headlines of the evening so far... | © BBC
