The radio show "National Request Charts -
2004" was delivered to 11 Hospital Radio stations across the UK in January
2005. The radio show consisted of a duration of 56'47" (customisable to
specific duration requirements, e.g shorter for NewsLink, segmented into
"Parts" for adverts etc.). The production notes consisted of...
Show Intro - 1 min, voice.
Top 15 songs played out in full
Short Segues (approx 20sec. length) (between) No.13 - No.12, No.10 -
No. 9, No.5 - No.4
Long Segue - 1 min, between No.8 - No.7 (this section introduced names
of participating stations to the chart).
Chart Countdown recap - 1min15sec between No. 2 - No. 1
Show Outro - 30 sec, voice
The crib offered drop in/out points between songs No. 15 - No.14, No.12
- No.11, No.11 - No 10, No. 9 - No.8, No.7 - No.6, No.6 - No.5, No.4 -
No.3, No.3 - No.2. With that total of 8 potential drop in points,
ads were available to have been placed in these spots as and when
necessary. The only provision for timing in this circumstance would
be to reduce the length of the preceding song before the break. E.g.
No.12 song duration 2'45". Ad break of 30 sec included, reducing
song length to 2'15".
2005's production will be presented in a simpler format, offering three
defined parts to the 1 hr programme, presenting an easy opportunity for
all to drop in adverts easily. Individual branding will also be
dropped in three times during the show for the receiving hospital radio
station. More of the production format will be released nearer the
production date, Monday 9th January 2006.
